Elizabeth Metzger Sampson

Elizabeth Metzger Sampson is a writer, frequent collaborator with visual artists, and works as the Executive Director of the Poetry Center of Chicago. She was recently named as one of Chicago’s LIT 50, “a list of fifty people who demonstrate our city’s literary clout—locally, nationally, and internationally,” by Newcity Lit. Elizabeth previously founded and edited Dear Navigator, a literary journal for the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, taught at SAIC, and conducted artist workshops in Cairo and St. Catherine, Sinai, Egypt.

Temporary continent.

Temporary continent. maps the unstable tributaries of contributions, reflections, and media arising from Mississippi. An Anthropocene River and its research procession. The project is a collaboration between two experimental publishing collectives, continent. and Temporary Art Review, both concerned with the amplification, modulation, and circulation of community voices on both sides of the Atlantic, and beyond.
