How is the project operated?
Artist-run.

How long has it been in existence?
2.5 years.

What was your motivation?
To host and facilitate alternative art shows that subvert the typical expectations of an art gallery. We also like to party.

Number of organizers/responsible persons of the project.
Founded by Lara Ohland, Tim Stoelting, and Ashley Janke.
Passed on to 10 recent graduates as of May, 2014 (Jenna Knapp, Megan Shecterle, Amy Trompeter, Maeve Jackson, Miles Buss, Oliver Syedllo, Braden Baer, Nick Romano, Jake Platt, Zachary Swearingen).

How are programs funded?
Outa’ pocket baby.

Who is responsible for the programming?
We are.

Number and average duration of exhibitions/events per year.
On average we host 1 main exhibition per month sprinkled with many side events and performances.

What kind of events are usually organized?
Lectures, screenings, art exhibitions, performances, murals, plays, theater, critique nights, book clubs, book release, talk shows, candlelight vigils, boom box parade, breakfast, improve clubs, beach, meditation, music shows, sword fighting, yoga, the occult and more…

How is your programming determined?
A fairly standard curatorial practice, and submission based proposals.

Do you accept proposals/submissions?
Not at this time.

What is your artistic/curatorial approach?
Anything goes as long as it fits.

What’s working? What’s not working?
3 of the 4 light bulbs in the basement, the second woman’s stall toilet, and the floorboards swell in the summer.

What kind of role do you hope to play in your local art scene or community?
Creating opportunities to bring national artists to Milwaukee and support local emerging artist.

What idea are you most excited about for the future?
