What is your artistic/curatorial approach?
The Object Group is a large ensemble devising interactive performance installations mixing object theater, tableau vivant, puppetry, movement, and sound. In collaboration with a dedicated ensemble of performers, devisers, and designers, the Group performs in non-traditional theatrical spaces and develops dynamic new models of audience interaction. We create work starting from resonant objects manipulated in space. We devise as a group, developing dynamic/abstract visual representations of themes. From this beginning, through extensive experimentation and rehearsal, we develop our productions.

What’s working? What’s not working?
The ensemble dynamic is working! Everyone pitches in to help with marketing, development, creation, grantwriting, etc.

What kind of role do you hope to play in your local art scene or community?
We want to be front and center when it comes to provocative new work in public spaces.

What idea are you most excited about for the future?
We are very excited about our upcoming commission from the High Museum to create a short performance about Frida Kahlo in conjunction with the exhibition ‘Frida and Diego’! Using puppets, objects, and interactive performance.
