Contributors Inc. is a collaboration between Mimi Cabell and Phoebe Stubbs. Our professional practices as an educator and editor are integral to our understanding of the art world, from its obvious inequalities to the methods of distributing artwork, and have led to our joint interest in art publishing and its mechanisms. In 2013 we completed a research project investigating how writing is taught in art and design schools in the US and UK; our publishing imprint, Pink Jacket, will be publishing Suggested Reading, an artist book of the work of Keith Allyn Spencer, in spring 2018; our collective, Contributors Inc., recently had work published in ‘Cabinet’ Magazine, we are currently at work on our second and third Contributors Inc. projects - Artfrom and Arton. In summer 2017 we were in residence at the NES art residency in Iceland, and at The Luminary in St. Louis, Missouri.
