What was your motivation?
A continuing desire to serve artists.

2 founders, 7 staff, hundreds of volunteers.

Through Membership, foundational support, and earned income.

Our curatorial team is responsible for programming.

4 major exhibitions, 12 major events/performances.

What kind of events are usually organized?
Music performances, film screenings, lectures, readings, field trips.

How is your programming determined?
By our curatorial staff.

Do you accept proposals/submissions?
Not currently.

What kind of role do you hope to play in your local art scene or community?
To bring work to a Portland audience that would not otherwise be seen, to exceed expectations on artists’ vision for the exhibition or performance of their work, and to restore and repurpose the incredible landmark building where all this happens.

What idea are you most excited about for the future?
The seismic upgrade. That and the pétanque tournament.
