March 2012 marked the one year anniversary of Temporary and we are celebrating by adding a major new component to our regular content for the next year. We will be taking an in-depth look at one region each month, with a concentration of essays, interviews, exhibition reviews and profiles on that area’s art community as a way to more deeply engage with the projects and ideas that are shaping it today. This new feature is an expansion of our commitment to cultivating a dialogue among disparate art communities and will supplement our ongoing regular content. Fittingly, we will begin in March with a feature on St. Louis, the city where Temporary initially emerged and which still acts as a central hub for our activity. Features on our current regions Houston, West Texas, and New Mexico will follow, with regions throughout the United States being added over the course of the year. The goal of the features is to create a compelling view of the work being done in cities across the country and allow the constellation of activity in each individual locale to emerge as something like a portrait of the current moment.
