Temporary Art Review is a platform for contemporary art criticism that focuses on alternative spaces and critical exchange among disparate art communities. Temporary is a national network, highlighting both practical and theoretical discourse through exhibition reviews, interviews, essays and features on artist-run spaces and projects.

Regional Editors assist Temporary in creating a platform for inclusive coverage of cultural activities within their community. This volunteer position will provide an opportunity to gain invaluable experience working with the local art community and to connect with a broad and growing network of contributors and organizations across the country. Regional Editors contribute and solicit exhibition reviews, interviews and essays, and manage profiles on alternative and nonprofit spaces and projects. The Regional Editor is responsible for recruiting and managing staff, ensuring content is consistently updated and fostering partnerships in the region. This is a part-time position that will require approximately 10-15 hours per week.

Job Description of Regional Editor

• Recruit and manage a staff of writers, copy editors and interns.
• Oversee the production of regional content including exhibition reviews, site/project profiles, interviews and more.
• Regularly update the website and social media.
• Edit or restructure content as necessary.
• Represent and promote their region on Temporary Art Review.
• Represent and promote Temporary Art Review within their region.
• Work with Executive and Managing Editors to develop programming and fundraising opportunities including grant writing and sponsorship.
